Whoops, would you look at that? My account is back to regular. It's okay, seeing as I'm not really posting at all at the moment. The reason for that is, well, either I have too much to say or too little to say. In both cases, posting is not tempting.
I guess things are just kind of regular at the moment, too. I like regular. I'm being made "super user" of the computer system at work after a guy who is leaving, and I can just feel the flood of requests and complaints that are going to be washing over me the moment I return from the three-day course I am currently attending. Hopefully, there'll be a pay rise in it, also.
Regular life or not, there's nothing quite like a package from CDON arriving in the mail! Yesterday, a whole heap of DVDs arrived, including Rome season 2 (for the bf), and a luscious mix for myself: The Devil Wears Prada, Catch Me If You Can, Brazil, a delicious 3-movie-set of Mean Girls, Clueless and Save the Last Dance, and last but not least, my heart's desire: SEASON ONE OF SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH. I just watched the whole first disc - am blissful now. IloveitsomuchIcantevenexplainitIreallyre allyreallycantandshutupifyoudontlikeitit smythingletitgo.
I guess I only really wanted to post to talk about my movie purchases. O GOD HOW SAD. No, I'm fine with it, really.

What a terrible day this is! What gives?!
The whole morning has just had a veil of gloom about it. I was so depressed this morning, I thought I was going to die, liek totally d00d. This started a little bit last night, which makes me think it has something to do with the weather. It's been rainy, windy and yeah, gloomy. And I generally appreciate a rainy day! It has something pleasant and cooling about it. Yesterday, however, had nothing of the sort. Why do I feel so icky? Something just feels wrong.
On a relatively unrelated note: I'd bought the DVD "Pretty in Pink", which is an 80s movie, and decided to watch it last night before bed. And the whole thing just got me down. It was a really sucky movie - I mean I can handle suck, if it's a charming suck, but this was not. It was big-time sucky suck, without so much as a hint of charm or even a little cutesy cheeseballness. So disappointing. The worst thing, however, was Andie (Molly Ringwald)'s beyond horrible mess of a prom dress. Talk about taking two perfectly fine pink dresses and ruining them beyond repair. I'm genuinely upset about this. I had to watch "The Exorcist" for a bit afterwards to recover. Posessed Regan can do no emotional damage to me that Molly Ringwald and her messy dress haven't already done!
I guess I should get back to work now... This is not a good work day. Booo. I need something to pick me up. Coffee helped, like I knew it would, but I'm still feeling gloomy. Help!

...that I hope you will participate in. I did a similar one a while back, but now I thought of a slightly different variety. It involves movie screencaps! Who can resist?
It goes like this: I will post screencaps from ten movies I've seen recently. They don't have to be from movies I like, or hate, or movies that are brand new; just ten movies I've seen recently. I will post one cap from each movie, and you will guess which movies they're from. Fun, yesno? (I think these are relatively easy.)
( Here they are, in random order )

Sunday night sucks so much! And every week, too.
An amusing (or not) quote follows, from the all-girl Wii night I told you about before, to exemplify my potty humour:
My friend C is playing Wii golf. She asks GT if she wants to take over.
GT: "Don't you have one more hole?"
Me: "...if you know what I mean!!"
Sheesh. I need to shut up. Still; hee hee.
Ooh, speaking of the icon; Mean Girls was on again last night, and of course I had to watch it. Just as I was musing over how it didn't really make any sense and that it really wasn't a very good movie, it made me fucking cry. Because of all the stupid heart-to-heart stuff between all the girls at the end. Wait, check the calendar. Am I premenstrual? No. Oh, god. What the heck is wrong with me? I'm totally in love with Regina George, though - she's an icon.

This is a silly time to start an entry, as I am making dinner and waiting for the alarm to go off. But now I just felt like writing something, because I was skimming through my fp.
I'll tell you a bit about the weekend: ( Dinner and Wii )
( Toilet terror )
We bought a bunch of movies from CDON, including "Cocktail" (80's cheesy movies YAY!) and an amazing Danish film called "Kundskabens træ", which I hadn't seen in years, and I couldn't believe they had it. It's this really simple, yet moving film about a school class of about 15 and how they develop, physically, mentally and psychologically through two years. It shows how the most popular, most mature girl slowly becomes an outcast, and how everything can shift in a group. It's interesting: The pattern is static, but the roles are dynamic. I find this fascinating. It almost makes me want to write a paper or something. Anyway, you should all see it. I recommend!

Weird evening yesterday. The bf had invited four friends over to have a Wii Sports tournament. I didn't join in - don't really know why, I just felt kind of absent. ( Unfathomably interesting details follow )
Sorry about this dullness. Well, I guess you stopped reading after a bit if you were bored.

It's really stupid of me to wait so long between updates, because things I want to write about keep building up in my mind, and then when I log in to write an entry, I forget everything I wanted to write.
But oh well. I'm going to write about some of the superficial things that are right at the top of my head.
So my bf took his gadgetry to a new level. He ordered Nintendo Wii on Wednesday, and struck quite a bit of luck as he got 500 kroner off on it. It arrived today (along with my new cuter-than-cute Hello Kitty dogtag necklace! Iloveitsomuch!!), and it's AWESOME. I was trying to play mildly amused and not very interested, that lasted for about five seconds. I rule at tennis. According to the bf, Wii will give us great exercise because you have to move so much while playing. Oh well, anything to get out of the gym, I guess! But anywho, big ups to Nintendo. And we can even keep the PS2 plugged in as the two consoles are on different channels. YEAH! Gadgets!!!!!
There's also been a lot of movie watching lately. I can't not buy DVDs when there are sales going on, because I always end up finding some old movie that I always wanted to watch but never got around to. Just today I stumbled across a 4-movies-for-200-kroner sale, and I came home with Wolf Creek, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and a Norwegian movie called Den brysomme mannen, which is one I really wanted to see while it was showing at the theatres (come to think of it, it might still be showing a few places, but oh well). We're in gadget and electronics heaven right now. Raaaaaaaaa! My mother and I went to see The Queen at Vika the other day - brilliant! We loved it. I cried almost all the way through. Helen Mirren deserves all those wonderful reviews. We also had dinner at a terrific Italian restaurant called Barolo. I had the chicken lasagne and a fantastic red wine, plus the brownie con gelato because I'm a greedy-peter.
To get past my material self for one brief moment; the bf's leg is out of the cast now, and those screw thingies will be removed in mid March. He is quite bummed about this as he thought they would be out by the end of Feb. Boo. I think he has forgotten his disappointment for a while though, and the reason is Wii and of course Mii!!!
Have a good weekend.

Oh my god, I so can't believe I just found that! (Speaking of Little Britain references, check out my best-ever-icon!)

My metrocard from Paris. I loved it there, and I want to go back. It's definitely the best city I've visited... Next to London. Tres bien!
By the way, we just saw the Borat movie... I could have done without the naked fighting scene. It just went on and on, didn't it? All in all I'm not as overjoyed as the reviewers, but that's bound to happen when you read so many rave reviews in advance, I guess.

This is probably going to be as unsuccessful as my Teh pretty series (to which I have only made one post so far), but hey, I feel like writing about a thing that rocks.
Here it comes.
Sitting in a warm living-room with lit candles, maybe even a little on the hot side. Going into the cold, cold bedroom (because the window's open and it's like 0 degrees C outside) and collecting the cold, cold pillow and the cold, cold duvet to take back into the warm living-room. Snuggling up with said cold, cold items in front of something good on TV.
This is a thing of mine that rocks today.
But now: Spaghetti, and then off to see The Departed.

First I have to say that this song rocks my little socks off!
It's been a sleepy weekend, yet quite eventful. We've watched movies and been out drinking. On Friday, we finally got to watch Child's Play. We'd wanted to see it for quite some time, seeing as we're both horror fans. But what a letdown! It was not scary, it was not funny, it was nothing. Boo! We watched V For Vendetta on Saturday (around noon, I guess), but I can't really claim that I've seen it seeing as I fell asleep on the couch. It did seem very good, though - I caught the beginning and the end. I also forced the bf to watch Overboard with me; it was on TV Friday night. I've seen it hundreds of times, but I love it.
Last night, we had some friends over and then went out. It was pretty good. I only had a few glasses of red wine, and I'm glad I stuck to that, otherwise I probably would have felt so sick this morning. Which I didn't! Not being hung over rules. The bf, however, was not in such good shape. He had six beers, then two gin and tonics, and then two more beers - bad idea! I try very hard not to mix different types of alcohol when drinking, because being hammered and sick is just the worst thing. I didn't buy even one drink at the club, which I'm proud of. Money saved, hangover avoided! Brag, brag. I requested Gasolina - as always. That DJ guy must be so sick of me, I always always request that song.
And now the weekend is just about over, which sucks. Of course, going out on Saturday instead of Friday ensures the weekend getting ruined. I'm sure some of you know what I mean. If you go out on Friday, you put the social activity on the same day as the last work day of the week, and then you have two whole days to do absolutely nothing if you wish. It just makes the weekend seem eternal. I love that. But oh well, it was a good weekend anyway.
I'll find out next week if I get that job I interviewed for. Right now, I'm kind of hoping I won't get it, although it would improve my financial situation. It just seems so scary and exhausting to begin working somewhere different. And it's quite a trip back and forth. Oh, well. I'm sure whatever is meant to happen, will happen.

Just felt like updating.
I'm angsty right now, because the owner of the house just came by to say that he will be showing the apartment to potential new tenants, since we are moving out in December. This means one thing: I have to clean and tidy! Eeek, because I suck at it. Snaps to me for having just cleaned the bath tub, though, and keeping the kitchen counter relatively neat. I just have to make sure the floors look pretty and that there isn't a lot of clutter everywhere. I hate mess, which strongly clashes with my extremely messy personality. I'm a walking contradiction, me.
I watched two movies this weekend; Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which rocked, and is the reason I'm listening to this song over and over, and Cursed, with had Christina Ricci in it, and that's reason enough for me to love it. No, I really did think it was pretty good, despite the foul reviews. Christina!
Today I went back to the salon to get my ears re-pierced. They were really cool and did it free of charge. I need to wear these darn studs for ages, though, and twirl them around even more than I've done for the past seven weeks. Oh, well. I set up an appointment for a manicure while I was there, and threw in a hand massage. Should be nice.

Walk the Line (finally!) <3 Reese!
Groundhog Day (for about the third time)

I've had a cold this weekend, which sucks, but I really can't be sick during the week, because there's no one to cover for me at work and I really need the money. So I guess it's better to be sick at the weekend. At least I got some movie watching down - the latter two of these movies have just been sitting on the shelf since I bought them a while ago. I bought Walk the Line on Friday, and me and the bf watched it together. I cried, of course. I'm so e/\/\0!!!!1111one!! I cry at everything.
I still have An Affair to Remember and Boogie Nights sitting on the shelf, unwatched; well, that's kind of a lie, I did watch Boogie Nights on TV a while back. I need to watch it again, though. I'm also looking forward to An Affair to Remember; I'm a sucker for old movies. I've been wanting to buy all the good old Danny Kaye movies that I used to watch to pieces when I was little. I love those movies, Danny Kaye rules all.
Urgh, work tomorrow. Noooooooes.

Wow. I kinda don't feel so good. I've been sick for a few days after coming back from Paris, but I've been getting better and there's only been throat trouble. However, now... I'm feeling dizzy and weird. I think it might be because of that second cup of coffee at my mother's house. When will I learn that my body can't really handle more than one cup a day? Also, I went for a dip in the sea again, for the second time this summer. Maybe that was a little premature, after being sick and all. We were out on my uncle's lovely boat again. I love that. The water was much warmer than last time - as you may or may not remember, I almost suffered from frostbite the last time I went. Today, however, it was lovely. I stayed in for a long time (partly because I couldn't for the life of me get back up on the ladder, but also because the water was nice). I'm going to the beach with a friend tomorrow - last day of my two weeks off from work. Boo, booooooooo. I dread work like crap - not because I hate my work or anything, just because having time off is so much nicer.
Toodles!

Toodles!

I am pissed off at this game, because no matter how hard I try, I just can't get into the hall of fame. And believe me, I've tried! How someone's managed to get over 500 points, I'll never understand. I was so close to getting on that list just now, but it all ended at 155 points. Fuck! I'm so frustrated. I know it's sad that a thing like this gets me so worked up, but oh well. I just had to whine a bit.
I don't think I have anything interesting to say, which is how it usually is on here, I guess. I'm still working at my receptionist gig, and they love me. Who can blame them, I rule. The bf and I went to see Scary Movie 4 on Friday. It was okay, but I liked one of the other ones better. I forget which one. The one with all the donut allegories. My favourite part of SM4 was when Cindy communicated with the little Japanese boy. Hah, hah!! I also enjoyed the fact that Dr. Phil willingly made an ass out of himself. Gotta respect that.
I'm wondering what to do for my birthday this year; it's the big scary 2-5. Can't deal! But actually, I think I'm handling this better than I did turning 24. My birthday will be on a Saturday this year, so I'm thinking dinner at a nice restaurant, or maybe a party (although this will cause a lot of angst beforehand), or maybe going to TusenFryd. I want to try the new rides and eat candyfloss and get sick. Whoo!
No LOST today. Boo galore. I need to post a pic to ease my withdrawal pains:

Argh scary help!!! ETHAN! (It's season one! So no one is mad now, right?)

I am so dumb. I procrastinate and procrastinate, and the more I procrastinate the worse I feel, and the worse I feel the more I procrastinate. Today I am counting one month and three days until my term paper is due, and I have done very little work on it. I just can't seem to get properly started. Hate! The smaller paper is due May 12th, and we (the group) have to turn in a first draft or something for the teacher to give feedback on by Friday. And then there's Pragmatics. Boo. But I am mostly worried about the term paper. May 27th feels like a long way away, but poof! Suddenly it's right around the corner. I'm hating this paper so much right now. It's totally colliding with my lazy time!
I just burned myself a lovely cd for relaxing. So happy with the result. But the Bonnie 'Prince' Billy track wouldn't burn, and it's such an appropriate song for such a calm cd, so I'm kind of disappointed. ( Anyway, here is the track list. )
Oh and I saw Lilja 4-Ever last night. It was so awful. Good, but awful. You know.
Have a nice Sunday! Hope yours is more productive than mine.

First off,

I caught the last part of The Birdcage on TV last night... How much do I love and worship that movie? A lot, that's how much. I completely crack up at ( spoiler I suppose ) Also all the falling down. And how adorable is Calista Flockhart. Very, that's how.
Now on to the crap: CRAAAAAAP! Just found out I have to do another major paper, along with the term paper, that is also due in May. It's not supposed to be quite as long as the term paper, but still. I am only at a very vague beginning of the term paper, and only received the question and material for the other paper today. This is a pass/fail paper, which means it won't be graded but it will determine whether I get to do the exam in that particular subject. This only leaves Pragmatics as the paper-free subject, and I hope it will remain that way... It probably will, seeing as linguistics is not really about papers, it's more about smaller, concrete tasks. Like maths, really. Which can be both good and bad and oh dear I seem to be bleeding from my right hand. Ew. *goes off to get bandaid*
By the way, I've had a big ol' Jones in the Fast Lane revival these past couple of days. You remember Jones, right? It's truly a classic, a milestone of its time and still one of my favourites. Hooray for Jones!
Please comment! Or I'll feel so terribly unloved.
Oh and I didn't try to April's fool anybody in this post, by the way.

With ratings from 1 to 6 (6 being the best).
Fight Club (5)
Final Destination (1)
Gangs of New York (3)
The Whole Nine Yards (3)
What Lies Beneath (4)
Shrek (5)
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (4)
Spy Hard (3)
Also tried to watch The Score, but fell asleep, so am not fit to rate it. I must admit I had seen TWNY and SH before. And how proud am I to have finally seen a Harry Potter movie. Now I can finally take Hogwarts quizzes to determine that I belong in... *drumroll*

I was also very amused by the bogey-, vomitus- and earwax-flavoured candy. I mean, wtf??
Finally, look at my new Brooke icon! Yay! Isn't she lovely?
